Estio Road Christmas Lights Show 2011

Welcome to MyDesertLights.com website, home to the Simmons Family's Dancing Christmas Lights Show on Estio Road in Cathedral City, CA named Best Christmas Lights Display in America 2010 by The Early Show on CBS.

Featuring the largest and #1 rated computer-controlled and animated Christmas lights show in Southern California and the Coachella Valley. The show for 2011 boasts more than 110,000 eco-friendly LED lights, five miles of cabling, over 350 independent lighting channels, 24-foot tall Mega Christmas Tree, Leaping Light Arches, Shooting Stars, and much more!

The show's lights are synchronized to holiday music via special computer hardware and software, which makes the lights "dance" to the music. The music is broadcasted via short-range radio from the Simmons home on 107.5 FM "The Icicle" and features popular holiday hits. Television and radio personality Rich Fields, provides the narration. Rich is the former show announcer for game shows "The Price Is Right" and "Wheel of Fortune."

Show Times

The show runs nightly from November 25, 2011 through January 1, 2012. Show times are Sunday through Thursday, from 5 PM to 10 PM and Friday and Saturday, from 5 PM to 11 PM.

On Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM we will be having our annual special visit from Santa Claus event which you do not want to miss!

Show is FREE to the public, so that all of the community and tourists alike can enjoy the magical dancing lights that bring new sights and sounds to the holiday season.

Note: The show will be canceled on days where high winds, rain, or snow <g> occur for safety reasons!

Special Visit from Santa Claus

This year on Saturday, December 17th, we will get a special visit from Santa Claus between 6 PM and 8 PM. To celebrate Santa's special appearance, we serve FREE hot chocolate and cookies for everyone to enjoy. So bring the whole family out, and don't forget your camera. Mark your calendars... you do not want to miss this event. During the past few years this event has grown alot and is a huge hit for both the children and adults!

We also take lots of pictures during this event. We also offer several different photo purchasing options online as well. Remember, all proceeds from your purchase benefit FIND Food Bank.

Show Rules

When visiting our show, we ask that you observe a few rules.

  • Please be respectful and courteous to our friends and neighbors. Observing all of the rules will be greatly appreciated.
  • Please be kind to our neighbors and do not block traffic or driveways, park or walk on anyone's lawn, blow horns, or play your radio too loudly.
  • For the viewing pleasure of our other guests, we ask that you please turn off your headlights while in front of the display.
  • WARNING!!! Due to the high electrical voltage that runs the show, please DO NOT enter the show area or yard for any reason! Failure to observe this rule could result in serious injury or death.
